Hello everyone,
It has come to my attention that in my eyes, the divisions aren't really equal in power. Some division house many strong teams, while others have mostly rebuilding teams. I don't know if you agree on this, or think it is a problem, but I thought I should at least bring it up for discussion to hear what everyone thinks.

You know, it is something that has been discussed in the past. However, it really is cyclical with these things. And if you look at the standings as they are now, they are incredibly balanced. Here are the overall breakdowns:
South: 27-23 Midwest: 25-25 Pacific: 25-25 Atlantic: 23-27
Now, the schedule may play into that (this was the first year we went with the pre-generated schedule), I don't know.

I'd say that strength is cyclical, but geography isn't, and Houston and Memphis is in the East while Cleveland and Chicago is in the West, so perhaps the conferences could use some minor tweaking or the East/West system could be replaced. Not really that big a deal though, the divisions are quite fair.

Yeah that's why I think it's important to check the equality in strength now, because we use the pre-generated schedule. For a large part of the season we only play against division rivals, so if you're in a stronger division you have a much tougher schedule. With such a schedule, you can't just compare rankings in divisions because you don't play many teams outside the division, so within the division naturally there will be about as much losses as wins. I don't think there's a totally objective way of determining the strength of the divisions, but I just thought it would be good to hear what people think about it if they look at the teams and rosters that are in each division.

No opinions on this? I for one think the divisions pretty unbalanced.

I think they are a little unbalanced but that can change quickly over the course of a season or two. Like commish said, this thing is cyclical. I think changing up based on what played out this season could be a huge mistake. Overall I think all is fair. I think a major factor in the weaker divisions is people just not setting line-ups. It has gotten better.
I could get on board with the geography tweaks though.
