Well I believe Miege made this list to be more than just a list of accomplishments, but an actual look at the teams. We all know who won when, that's not much of a discussion and the champions receive credit for that already. If you don't want to look beyond the outcome of a season that's fine, I do think it's interesting to do so. Isn't this the whole point of this list/discussion?
To answer your first question, I think it depends on the context and Miege did a great job painting that here. I don't know the context of 2011 that's why I brought up the point, to see how others felt about 2011. I also think there's a difference in winning 9-0 or 5-4, or if you win each cat by 1 point or dominate them.
And yeah, championships are easy to measure and if you want 1 simple indication of success, that's the way to go. But again, I don't think that's the point of this topic
Roster PG: J. Holiday, M. Fulltz, C. Joseph SG: V. Oladipo, B. Beal, B. Bogdanovic, R. Langford SF: O. Porter, T. Prince PF: M. Williams, PJ. Tucker, N. Bjelica C: D. Ayton, A. Horford
So I should note again that trying to differentiate between teams 2, 3, 4 and 5 is splitting hairs. For me, the reason I give the SLIGHT nod to Tampa Bay over OKC are the expectations. OKC was really, really good. I also remember them entering the season on the outside looking in. They also squeaked by in the championship by mere percentage points (the Nets had it won if they'd sat their guys the final day) in a one week championship where there's more unpredictability. The Bull Sharks entered the season as the clear cut favorite, and, even though they had two extremely close losses the first two weeks (we're talking a few percentage points here, and a couple of steals there), they absolutely lived up to the billing as the best team. The competition may not have been as tough as the next year, which is why I had 2017 Houston higher, but the 16 Raptors and 16 Nets were no slouches.
I mean, it's really, REALLY close between all these teams. We're talking about 17-2 vs. 17-1 vs. 20-1. I also wouldn't expect people to just take my list as gospel here. This is merely my opinion, and I would love for others to post their lists.
Miege22: Had to start spending my own money on them haha

teefbe: Since Minny decided quickly on re=signs and player options are we going to move up free agency like last year or it stays on 12th?
Jul 30, 2018 16:15:50 GMT -5
Miege22: I've created a poll on the topic. Moving up FA is harder to do than the draft because it impacts everyone. If even one owner is not on board with moving it up, we'll leave it to start on the 12t

Cleveland Cavaliers: Are you a contender? Do you need another solid contributor for your squad on literally the cheapest deal possible? Well you're in luck, Allen Crabbe is your man! For the low cost of a 2019 draft pick that won't be high cuz you're a contender

zephyr: does anyone know when espn is going to add position eligibility?
Nov 12, 2018 17:22:43 GMT -5
Miege22: They added PG eligibility for Bryn Forbes last week. I think they just kind of do it gradually

zephyr: great -- thanks!

zephyr: landry shamet's at 21.1 mpg for the season -- does that mean toronto has to make a decision on activating him from d-league?
Nov 27, 2018 11:30:31 GMT -5
Miege22: I think we need to go a little longer on the d-league signees, all of them, this year. 20 games isnt' a huge sample size, and a few low or no minute games can drastically impact those averages.
Nov 27, 2018 11:38:06 GMT -5
Miege22: I don't think a decision needs to be made until the last week of our season.
