Probably the night the West flips in Golden State's favor. Just don't see the Kings having enough firepower to hold up over two weeks.

Man KC started strong and I had a terrible start, at least it looks like I can make it competitive now lol. KC and Tampa both looked strong coming into this week. Good luck everyone!

I'm not trying to reverse jinx or anything, since I have no dog in this race, but KC is about to lose a third Christian Wood game, probably at least two CJ games, and likely 3 LeVert games. He's just not going to survive that, not when Hart has been a dud, and both Grant and SGA have had their own stinkers.

When I saw he had 28 at the half, my eyes about popped out of my head. I still think you'll end up winning... but I'm less convinced of it.

MID-WEEK UPDATE
Tampa Bay leads New York, 6-3 This is a tough one for the Knicks. With better healthy, they might be leading this one. As it stands, they've just not been able to quite keep up with the Bull Sharks. Of their 8 healthy players, they already lost games from Eric Gordon, Bojan Bogdanovic, LeBron James, and Markelle Fultz. Frankly, if all of those guys had played every game, they might be winning this thing. De'Aaron Fox seems to be on a mission, though, for Tampa Bay. He's put up 32/5/9 thus far, and it's not like Tampa has been without their own issues. Zach LaVine missed a game, as did Doug McDermott. Blake Griffin simply isn't playing, and Sabonis was suspended for two games. There's still enough time, and things are close enough, that we can't say any category is out of reach. Even the three % lead Tampa Bay has in FG percentage is not insurmountable. And in an odd twist of fate, the Sabonis suspension is probably a big reason why the Bull Sharks are leading free throw percentage. New York's best path, at this point, looks like it's holding assists, threes, and turnovers, and coming back in the percentages. We will see what Monday brings, but it is possible this one goes down to the wire.
Kansas City leads Golden State, 5-4 Speaking of unforeseen injuries, this one has been a mess. Both the Kings and Warriors had issues we knew about going in, but the last minute losses have started to pile up. The Kings lost three games from Christian Wood due to a mysterious illness, the same one that got Dennis Schroder on Sunday (after he missed a game on Monday with an ankle issue). To make matters worse for the Kings, CJ McCollum picked up COVID in the middle of the week, possibly knocking him out for the rest of the series. Not to be outdone, the Warriors were surprised to see Jimmy Butler miss two games with two different ailments (first a sinus issue, then big toe "inflammation" - I mean, come on). Then Aaron Gordon was a late scratch with a foot injury, and Seth Curry was literally announced as a starter before getting pulled due to a sore ankle. It's one thing for a team to lose games from guys they know are hurt going in (LeVert for KC or FVV for GS). It's another entirely to get these last second scratches. It's made trying to project this match-up impossible. Right now, Kansas City does project to have a four-game advantage, but it's hard to say that with any sort of certainty. Who knows if Shai or LeVert will randomly sit a back-to-back, or if Dennis Schroder will come back from this illness that knocked Christian Wood out for a week. The Warriors have a number of players who seem to be going game to game with their injuries, and while a guy like Vuc played two games after hamstring tightness, would it be a surprise if he missed a game with "tightness" this week? What's crazy is that Kevin Love may be the healthiest player on either team right now (of course, saying that probably just put some weird voodoo curse on him). Here's the thing about this one. Besides threes, everything is up for grabs. Yes, even free throw percentage and rebounds. Buckle up, because this one is going to be bumpy.

feels like the playoffs become more unpredictable after every season. i don't know if that's a product of the bigger talent pool in the nba or just no clear runaway favorites in this league anymore.

I'm glad you mentioned that because I have theories...
1. The playoffs are more unpredictable than they've ever been because of two things. First, an increase in player maintenance (not just sitting guys out for rest, but being more mindful of nagging injuries) has led to more lineup volatility. Second, the deeper talent pool combined with a more wide open style of play has led to a more egalitarian game, fantasy-wise, and so many guys are capable of popping off on any given night. More than, say, 10 years ago when players were more specialized.
My other theory?
2. The playoffs actually aren't any more unpredictable than they've ever been. They only feel that way because we severely limit the number of teams that make the playoffs. There's never really a discernable difference between the top-3 teams in each conference (unless we have a year where one team is just overloaded with talent), but because only four teams get in, a 3 over a 2 or a 3 or 4 beating a 1 feels like a bigger deal.
I haven't decided where I stand.

Man, I'm going to be devastated for whoever loses this WCF. Seems like the older I get, the more disappointed I am for the losers than I am happy for the winners lol. Buzzer beaters in the tournament are soul crushing haha

Why has Poopy not set his roster today with all available players. 🤔
Is it intentional?
