Overview
This league will consist of 20 teams, with the NBA names and NBA Players. Each team will fill a roster of players just like they do in NBA. Our General Managers will have total control of their team, which means drafting rookies, trading, releasing, and signing players to field the best fantasy roster they possibly can.
Once the Regular Season begins we run a fantasy League with these rosters on ESPN.com. Our teams will compete in 9 categories for 16 weeks in the regular season. Each week, the team that wins the most categories will receive a win...the team that loses the most will be awarded a loss. THERE ARE NO TIES. Points will be used as the tiebreaker. If the match is tied, whoever scored the most points gets the win.
The Playoffs will consist of 6 weeks and are detailed below.
Scoring Categories
Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, Turnovers, Three Pointers Made, Field Goal % and Free throw %.
Moderators
This league will consist of seven moderators ("mods"), who will help govern and run the league as best as they possibly can. These seven members will also be the ones who vote on trades and resigns. They are the authority of the league.
They are:
Miege22 (Brooklyn)
Richardson239 (Tampa Bay)
Hawkeye (Atlanta)
ColoradoGM
MemphisGM
teefbe (New York)
moltreszwarriors (Houston)
Rosters
You must have a minimum of 8 players on your roster by the opening week of the season. You may not sign a player if you are at or over the roster limit. Once the season starts, you must be at, or below, the roster limit.
Injured Reserve
Starting with the rule change approved by the league on June 17th, 2019, the injured reserve spot may be used on any player out with an injury or overseas. The player must be out injured for a minimum of two weeks, and teams must provide written confirmation of this absence. Teams may also place a player on injured reserve retroactively if they miss two or more weeks.
Starting Line-Up
1 Point Guard
1 Shooting Guard
1 Small Forward
1 Power Forward
1 Center
2 Utility players
---------------------
7 Bench Spots
Salary Cap and Contracts
The cap number for ALL teams will be set at $65,000,000. Every team has been given their respected players contracts, if you are caught changing them you will be automatically kicked out of the league. Make sure you stay under the cap at all times.
Playoffs
5 teams per conference will make the playoffs (per rule change approved in June, 2021)
Tie-breakers to make the playoffs will be:
1. Head to head
2. Division record (if tied teams are in same division; if not, skip to 3)
3. Conference record
4. Total categories won in the reg. season
5. Fewest categories lost
4 vs. 5 in one week play-in
1 vs. winner of play-in
2 vs. 3
INTEGRITY OF THE GAME CLAUSE
Teams are required to keep their top 7 players in the active lineup if they do not plan on setting their lineup every day. If a team cannot decide on their top 7, I will make that executive decision. Any team suspected of tanking will receive a warning. If the team continues to display signs of tanking, they will be fined $10,000,000 effective the following season. A third offense will result in loss of a draft pick. If an owner breaks this rule for a fourth time, they will be removed from the league.
I realize that real life happens from time to time, and owners can't always get a lineup set. If you know you won't be able to set a lineup, please let myself or a mod know, and we can set a lineup on your behalf. What constitutes tanking? Removal of any top-7 player for another player who is not playing that night or injured. It is fairly easy to spot tanking teams. Even if a team follows these guidelines, they may still be guilty of tanking. The mods will discuss those situations internally.
Teams may also not intentionally lose to set up a perceived "better" match-up in the playoffs, unless and until they have clinched a playoff spot.
