1. Tampa Bay
This team has a stud in all 5 positions C.Paul, M.Ginobili, P.Pierce, D.Nowitski & P.Gasol while J.Holiday and R.Stuckey are excellent backups. The other players are on teams with good depth so it might affect their stats this season but the Bull Sharks still has 2 roster space to fill and knowing the owner he'll be able to get a steal or two. Being the defending champions the Bull Sharks will be the team to beat in the division for me.
2. Memphis Grizzlies
The young combo of D.Rose & A.Bynum I really like. A.Iguodala's versatility will help a lot. ZBo & D.West are steady while D.Favors & K.Thompson are projected to breakout this season. But this team is handicapped while D.Rose is away. Finding another backup PG is imperative and could decide on how far this team will go. It's hard to think this team was win less last season but I project this team to be a contender if D.Rose returns on time.
3. Orlando Magic
One thing this team has is PG depth. Lowry and Dragic are on new teams and should be motivated to prove their worth. Chalmers will be an excellent backup. David Lee & M.Gortat will assure the Magic of double-double points & rebounds while J.Johnson will strut his all-around game. Tony Allen & Courtney Lee will add depth at SG. The Magic has it's weakness at SF with unproven H.Barnes backing up P.Chandler.
4. Atlanta Hawks
Talk about starting all over again. The Hawks gave up depth (D.Williams, A.Horford, M.Gasol) when acquiring LeBron James, but T.Parker, J.Lin, M.Thornton, S.Hawes & E.Okafor are no push overs. Back ups JR.Smith, J.Bayless, K.Seraphin & G.Green could prove valuable as the season progress. Last season the Hawks were eliminated, so making the playoffs will be an improvement.
5. Houston Rockets
This team is strong at the PF position with players like S.Ibaka, G.Garnett, L.Scola & R.Anderson. It is also deep at SGs with K.Martin, A.Aflalo, W.Mathews & J.Terry. I'm predicting the Rockets will trade some of those assets to fill in other positions. But realistically, this will be a lottery team. Come next season, the Rockets will also have seven free agents so expect them to be in a rebuild mode.
