1. Utah Jazz
Hard to think the Jazz traded Lebron James away but the addition of D.Williams, A.Horford, & M.Gasol only made the team better. D.Williams for me is at par with CP3. A.Horford & M.Gasol are top PF/C. Getting G.Wallace via FA is a good move to fill the SF spot. Trading for Ja.Crawford was nice. How about this second team of R.Felton, A.Burks, A.Morrow, K.Faried, & S.Dalembert. Looks like the Jazz has all the bases covered. The Jazz has won the division for 3 straight years and I have them winning the division again hands down.
2. Seattle Supersonics
What a starting line-up R.Rubio, T.Evans, D.Granger, T.Duncan, & D.Howard. Those players can fill the stat sheet. Rubio & Howard still has health issues, good thing there’s rookie D.Lillard & improved R.Hibbert to pick up the slack. J.Fredette, O.Casppi, E.Davis, & M.Speights could be useful substitutes. Is Lillard good? Will T.Evans regain his form? Will Duncan still be effective? If YES is the answer to all of those questions then this team will be a legit contender and we might see Seattle’s first winning season.
3. Portland Trailblazers
The Blazers made a major move, trading their best player D.Wade for A.Bargnani, K.Walker, Jo.Crawford, & E.Udoh adding much needed depth. K.Walker, D.Collison, J.Jack, Jo.Crawford will form a solid guard rotation while A.Bargnani, C.Bosh, & B.Biyombo give them a good set of bigs. They also manage to snatch E.Ilyasova, T.Mozgov, & A.Gee from free agency. This Blazers started the league strong but regressed, this season can be a different story.
4. Golden State Warriors
The Warriors will be lead by their own version of a Big 3 in B.Griffin, B.Jennings, & A.Stoudamire. Youthful Griffin & Jennings are improving every year but Stoudamire must bounce back from last year’s mediocre performance. We might see a breakout season for E.Turner and K.Leonard, both are ready to assume bigger roles with their respective teams. D.Harris & J.Calderon used to start but are good backups to have. Reserves T.Booker, A.Randolph, & J.Hill are more than able contributors. I like the playoff chances of last year’s team though.
5. Las Vegas Gamblers
Snatching Nene from free agency is nice for the Gamblers. Nene & T.Chandler gives them a solid 1-2 punch at center. Aside from that not much has changed with its team roster. Last year’s ROY K.Irving is their best player and could be a top 5 PG. G.Hayward, T.Thompson & T.Splitter are ready to step it up a notch. Add the steady production of veterans J.Nelson, S.Jackson, JJ.Redick, & B.Bass. The team will improve this season but a playoff berth could still be elusive.
