Question, this offseason I signed Mike Scott to my D-League. I'd like to bring him up to my statistical roster. Will he remain on the same D-League type of contract? If so, can I still resign him next offseason without using one of my resigns?
Thanks.

-In order to sign a player to a D-League deal, they must meet the following requirements: 1. Must be under the age of 23 2. Must have less than 82 games experience in the NBA 3. Must not have averaged more than 15 mpg in their NBA time - The D-League player is NOT eligible to play in any games during our season.- However, if, at any point in the season, your D-League player should break one of the three requirements listed above (rule #1 can be overlooked on a case by case basis), they must automatically go on to your active roster or be dropped. -At the end of the year, the team must decide whether to sign the D-League player to a long-term deal, or let them hit the free agent market. If you choose to sign a D-League player to a long-term deal, it will not count as a re-sign.

Well Mike Scott is 25. He has 43 games of experience and is averaging 13.3 mpg at this moment. I would like to bring him up to my ESPN roster. Am I able to do that? If so, do I have to sign him to a long term deal now? Or at the end of the season? And will he count towards a resign as I originally signed him as a D-League player?
Sorry for all of the questions, just want to make sure I'm doing this right.

Once a player is moved to the active roster, they become a "big-league" player. They are on the active roster for good (unless they are moved to IR for injury purposes). They cannot be moved back down to the D-League at any point.
You do not have to sign him to a long-term deal now, but if you choose to sign him to a long-term deal this summer, you would have to use a re-sign (essentially, this keeps teams from double-dipping on a D-Leaguer. You either get the benefit this year, and lose the free re-sign. Or you keep him in the D-League, and keep the opportunity to re-sign him for free.)
So to sum up, if you decide to move him to the active roster, he keeps the same contract, but is treated as a regular big-league player.

That makes complete sense. Thank you.
