It was brought to my attention that we do not have conditional waivers in the original free agent rules. Now, we have let them slide, because they really hadn't been an issue, but I am opening it up to the league.
Should we add an official rule allowing conditional waivers?
(For those who are unaware what conditional waivers are, it is when you bid on a free agent and state within the bid post that you plan on waiving a player on your roster should you win the free agent.)
Majority rules.

Just for clarification, would you have to specify the player you will be waiving or can you just state that you will be waiving a player?

I would say you should have to decide who is being cut & once posted you can't change your mind. That is just my opinion but would seem to make since if this wins.

Just for clarification, would you have to specify the player you will be waiving or can you just state that you will be waiving a player? You would state the player you will be waiving if you are the successful bidder for the free agent. The conditional waiver policy would allow you to bid on a free agent without initially dropping a player just to have an opportunity to bid. Technically, though we have been lenient with it this whole time, a team is not allowed to bid on a player if you have a full roster. Conditional waivers will give owners the opportunity to keep current players on active rosters and not force owners to take a gamble by waiving a player only to lose the bid on a free agent and thus, losing the player you waived for the opportunity to bid. Basically, you'd state who you would waive when making the bid, but would not have to waive that player until you have successfully won the free agent. It's similar to how we do it with trades when a team will be receiving an additional player and needs to create a roster spot for the trade to work. In these instances, owners stipulate which player will be waived if the trade is successful. Click here for a recent example of what I mean: miege.proboards.com/thread/2993/utah-chicagoFor example:
Portland offers Khris Middleton $500,000 for 1 year = .75 points
Conditionally waives Thomas Robinson $2,600,000 (2015) with a cap hit of $1,950,000
