Read the rules, usually 6 teams per conference but there is a condition that it may change based on schedule. How many teams will make the playoffs this year?

Actually, just going to leave that as is in case we ever do get back to a 20 week schedule.
4 per conference get in when it's fewer than 20 weeks.

Since this is already titled "Playoffs," I'll go ahead and use this thread to fill people in on the stretch run.
[bThe following teams have clinched their divisions[/b]
Brooklyn - Atlantic
The following teams have clinched playoff spots
EAST Orlando Atlanta
WEST Utah
Playoff-clinching scenarios: ORLANDO can clinch the South division with a win over Boston and a loss by Atlanta UTAH can clinch the Pacific division with a win over Kansas City or a loss by Las Vegas KANSAS CITY can clinch the Midwest division with a win over Utah or a loss by Cleveland
KANSAS CITY can clinch a playoff spot with a win or losses by OKC and Portland

The West is a cluster-f with Cleveland and Las Vegas at 8-5, Portland and Oklahoma City at 7-6, and Minnesota at 6-7 all vying for the final 2 spots.
Cleveland still has to face Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and Golden State. Las Vegas faces Cleveland, Oklahoma City, and Utah. Oklahoma City faces Las Vegas, Portland, and Cleveland. Portland faces Oklahoma City, Chicago, and Seattle. Minnesota faces Utah, Seattle, and Chicago.
It appears that Portland and Minnesota have the easiest schedule to the finish. Going to be an intense three weeks.

Week 7 could be key for Portland and Cleveland. Both teams tied in their matchups, however they lost the tiebreaker. Cleveland could be 9-4 and Portland could be 8-5 had they won the tiebreaker.

I'm thrilled with how the West has turned out. Close match ups all over the board (the East is a different matter, but injuries seem to have played a pretty big role).
I think it's safe to assume Portland and Minnesota win their games with Seattle and Chicago. With that in mind, Portland is in great shape given their head-to-head wins over Cleveland and Minny. A win over OKC effectively knocks them out of the race. The game between Cleveland and Vegas in week 15 may decide which of those teams makes it. If Cleveland, Portland, and Vegas finish in a 3-way tie, the winner of that CLE-LV game will go to the playoffs with Portland.
If just Cleveland and Portland finish tied, Portland owns the tiebreaker. I'm not really sure how we'd do the tiebreaker if just Portland and Las Vegas finish tied, we won't now until the last day because total cats won is the tiebreaker.

Utah has clinched the top seed in the west.
The winner of Brooklyn-Orlando likely clinches the top seed in the East. If Orlando wins, they would also have to win the following week or have Brooklyn lose. If Brooklyn wins, they do clinch.
Kansas City clinches the division with a win or a Cleveland loss.
Atlanta has clinched at least the third seed.
Las Vegas clinches a playoff spot with a win over Cleveland.
Portland clinches a playoff spot with a win over OKC and a Cleveland loss.

The playoffs are almost set:
Brooklyn has clinched the Atlantic and the top overall seed.
Orlando has clinched the South and the #2 seed in the East.
Atlanta has clinched the #3 seed.
Washington and Toronto will go to the 2nd tiebreaker (most categories won) if Washington beats Golden State and Toronto loses to Brooklyn.
Utah has clinched the Pacific and #1 seed in the West.
Kansas City has clinched the Midwest and the #2 seed.
Las Vegas and Portland have both clinched playoff spots. Who clinches the #3 spot comes down to the final week.

Once again, just so everyone is aware of what's at stake here:
If Washington wins and Toronto loses this week, then both teams will finished tied at 9-7. The first tiebreaker is head-to-head. As these two teams split their regular season meetings, the next tiebreaker is MOST categories won. Here's the total for both teams coming into this week:
Toronto: 77 categories won Washington: 73 categories won
Should they finish tied in categories won, we then move to division record. The Wizards were 5-3 in the division. Toronto, with a loss, would also be 5-3. The next tiebreaker is fewest categories least. Here's how that stands now:
Toronto: 54 categories lost Washington: 60 categories lost
If, somehow, they are still tied after that, we move to conference record. Washington is 8-5. Toronto, with a loss, is 7-6.
