I was bored, so I decided to rank each position. The following criteria were used:
-Last year's stats
-Situation as compared to last year (were they the only option, are they now?)
-Projections for next season
PG
1. Chris Paul
2. Deron Williams
3. Steve Nash
4. Chauncey Billups
5. Devin Harris
6. Tony Parker
7. Jose Calderon
8. Jason Kidd
9. Rajon Rondo
10. Derrick Rose
ANALYSIS: Paul and Williams are no-brainers.... Nash put up 16-10-3 on 50-90 %'s and 1.5 threes, and those numbers should go up... Billups' only downside is poor FG%.... Harris will be the #1 in NJ now... Calderon was great last year, and has more options this season... Kidd, Rondo, and Rose are all solid in every cat.
SG
1. Dwyane Wade
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Brandon Roy
4. Joe Johnson
5. Vince Carter
6. Ray Allen
7. Eric Gordon
8. OJ Mayo
9. Michael Redd
10. Kevin Martin
ANALYSIS: Wade and Kobe are obvious... Roy and Johnson can be interchangeable, but I think Roy will have a better year... Carter and Allen can be switched, depending on who is ranking them, same with Mayo and Gordon... Redd would be higher if he hadn't tore up his knee... Martin always seems to have a health issue.
SF
1. LeBron James
2. Kevin Durant
3. Carmelo Anthony
4. Danny Granger
5. Caron Butler
6. Andre Igoudala
7. Paul Pierce
8. Hedo Turkoglu
9. Rudy Gay
10. Gerald Wallace
ANALYSIS: LeBron is far and away the best... I'm expecting big things from KD this year... Granger and Anthony could be tied for three... things start to drop off after Pierce
PF
1. Dirk Nowitzki
2. Tim Duncan
3. Chris Bosh
4. Amare Stoudemire
5. Al Jefferson
6. Pau Gasol
7. Kevin Garnett
8. David West
9. LaMarcus Aldridge
10. Antawn Jamison
ANALYSIS: Dirk does everything... Duncan and Bosh could be switched... Amare and Al have injury issues, but they could both be the top PF... Gasol and Garnett do everything... West is the only other player I felt was safely in the top-10.
C
1. Dwight Howard
2. Nene
3. Brook Lopez
4. Al Horford
5. Andris Beidrins
6. Shaquille O'Neal
7. Andrew Bynum
8. Mehmet Okur
9. Emeka Okafor
10. Tyson Chandler
ANALYSIS: Weakest of the five positions... Howard a clear #1, Nene clear #2, Lopez clear #3... might as well pick anyone in the last seven as they will be relatively equal.
Those are my thoughts... anyone else?
