1. The franchise you are moving has NEVER won a championship in that city.
This city has won MANY championships and unfortunately does not have a team in this league despite it’s prestigious history. The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA, and have won 16 NBA championships.
2. You may only move your team to a city that would realistically host an NBA franchise (for example, a city like Topeka would not be able to support an NBA team, as they do not have the facilities).
The Los Angeles Lakers franchise is the most valuable franchise in the NBA according to Forbes, with an estimated value of $2.6 billion.
3. You may NOT move your team outside the continental United States.
Moving to Los Angeles, California
4. You must submit an application for relocation to the Permission for Relocation board in the Commissioner's office.
Done.
5. Your application must include the following:
-Specify reasons for leaving
Seattle is a small-market and we’re looking to go to a much larger market with more appeal. Damian Lillard is our franchise center-piece and is unequivocally one of the most boisterous players in the NBA. Los Angeles will suit him perfectly.
-Set a timeline of where you plan on your team being from years 1-5
We’re going through a rebuild and we have some promising pieces that I plan to continue building around. Hopefully, using the pieces I have amassed, I will be able to add role players and construct a contender within the next five years.
-Get permission from other team if you are moving them to city with another team.
I talked with crossover (Golden State Warriors) and he was ok with it.
-Come up with new name, logo, colors (or you can just keep the ones you have).
I'll use the default Los Angeles colors, logo, and team name.
Final comments:
I feel like I have really made the Seattle Supersonics my team with my recent three-team trade with the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics and I wanted to signal a change and new vision with a move to Los Angeles.
