We don't have a Finals thread, so I figured I'd start one. I missed most of the game, but watching the highlights... Pascal Siakam makes me so happy haha
Good or bad sign for Toronto that Kawhi looked hurt? Good or bad sign for GS that Kawhi and Lowry were shut down... and they lost?

The Warriors need KD in this series. If he's back at some point before its too late then GSW should take it. Raptors are the favorites for now

I've still got Golden State in 6 in this. Everyone wants to jump on the Raps, but if GS wins game 2, they'll have a pretty significant advantage. I'm interested to see if Gasol stays as aggressive. That's always been his achille's heel. He'll be able to feast on switches in this matchup, and if they keep trapping Kawhi on the PnR, Gasol is smart enough to make the right play.

I still expect Golden state to win in 6 as well (especially if KD returns around game 4) but Toronto has obviously gotten a fantastic start. Winning a game in which Kahwi and Lowry shot a combined what 30 or less percent? Also the first time GSW has lost a game one since the OKC series back in 2016.
I really hope Kahwi has enough in the tank to revert back to his dominant offensive form if/when Siakim/Gasol/VanFleet cool down. I remember Kahwi in the previous series would stand off in the perimeter to rest when his team is on fire in order to preserve energy on defense + for crunch time, so hopefully that was the case yesterday. I agree though that Toronto NEEDS to take game 2, you need to play your cards perfect to beat this fucking dynasty. Marc and Siakim need to eat up the lack of rim protection.

Win win for KD You lose : Shut up the media about the warriors being better without you (although this was already a dumb take). But yeah basically showing your value , would of been awkward if Golden State won the series without KD. Cannot get blamed for anything here You win: If he can come back from 3-1 this is probably the biggest thing he will ever accomplish (besides winning a title somewhere else). All those 3-1 jokes? You can’t undo that infamous OKC series but you can definitely rewrite your legacy with a 3-1 comeback in the finals (and next to the Lebron being the only players to come back from 3-1).
Also the Kahwi storyline is interesting too, It would be cool to see him resign but also bad ass if he gets Toronto the ring and proceeds to go to wherever he originally wanted to be at. I don’t think that’s ever happened before m.
Can’t wait to see how this unfolds

Even if they come back from 3-1, let us never forget that the warriors blew a 3-1 lead with the unanimous MVP and best single season record of all time.

I've got GS coming back because the only fun part about their whole run has been the 3-1 jokes, so of course they'll have to go and ruin that too.
But in all seriousness, just having KD out there, even if he can only space the floor, will totally open things up for the Warriors. Amazingly, it's been their inability to score that has cost them the most (in my opinion), largely because they've had at least 2 non-shooters on the floor at all times. Replacing one of those non-shooters with one of the greatest shooters ever will no doubt help.

Yep the scoring has indeed been the problem for Golden State, Iggy+Green have not shown up shooting wise at all this series (Iggy 20% on 4.3 3pt attempts , listen to this one Green 8% on 2.8 yikes..) and depending on Cook/McKinnie/Jerebko is a recipe for failure. If klay plays game 3 maybe it’s 2-2 but now I think this is fair at 3-1 with an injured KD back. Payback for the last 2 years of GSW coasting. You would think the Toronto supporting cast is due to cool off like the first half of game 4 but let’s see how confident these guys are. Just one more game of the next two ... avoid that game 7.
This is gonna be fucking awesome to watch

Just having KD out there gave GS enough of a spark.
So many head scratching moves down the stretch by Toronto. Nurse calling timeout. Lowry turning it over. (Lowry bricking the wide open dagger).
They played bad defense on Klay and Steph all night, and the other guys for GS hit just enough shots.
