With the following, the Minnesota Timberwolves ask permission to relocate the franchise to Phoenix under the name of Phoenix Suns
1.The franchise you are moving has NEVER won a championship in that city.
Never won sh*t. Not even close
2. You may only move your team to a city that would realistically host an NBA franchise (for example, a city like Topeka would not be able to support an NBA team, as they do not have the facilities).
Phoenix is a great basketball city. Currently hosts one of the best teams in the League.
3. You may NOT move your team outside the continental United States.
Check
4. You must submit an application for relocation to the Permission for Relocation board in the Commissioner's office.
Here it is
5. Your application must include the following:
-Specify reasons for leaving
Minneapolis is a doomed city. Minnesota is a doomed country. Heck, have you ever seen Fargo? Ice and snow for miles. Players don't want to live here. I'm only sorry for the fans, who were so nice and didn't burn Kevin Love's jerseys (after last season, I would have done it myself)
-Set a timeline of where you plan on your team being from years 1-5
The west is a pain in the ass. But so are we. The team will keep battling for playoffs year after year. We'll be the Conley-ZBo-Gasol Memphis of this decade
-Get permission from other team if you are moving them to city with another team.
There's nothing but desert in Arizona, shall I ask the cactuses?
-If moving them to an unoccupied city, you must state why the city you want to move to would want you to move there.
Phoenix baby!! That city shouldn't be without a team to begin with
-Finally, it will be voted on by the league, and you will need 2/3rds approval.
6. Lastly, be realistic. If you take over a team such as the Cavaliers or Suns, those teams aren't moving anytime soon. Don't expect to be able to move them here either (same goes for Boston, LA, San Antonio, etc.)
There have been constant rumors in the past few years about the Timberwolves relocating. Seems pretty realistic to me. Also ask Jimmy Butler what he thinks about this
