Hey guys, I'm thinking about changing the schedule. When the league first started, we played a division heavy schedule where teams played everyone in their own division twice, the teams in the opposing division once, and then a select number of teams from the other conference. We did that for 3 or 4 years before moving to the schedule we have now. For those that don't know, the schedule we have now has every team playing their own conference once each, and seven teams from the opposing conference. If we move to a division heavy schedule, the 3 out of conference opponents would be determined based on previous year records. To get an idea of what that would look like, here is a mock schedule: Now, why move back to a division heavy schedule? There are a couple of reasons. First, it would make divisions matter more. Instead of treating your own division like any other team, you would have half your schedule against the teams that are supposed to be your rivals. It would also add more intrigue to the interconference match-ups as those games would become more scarce, and they would pit the best teams from the previous year with each other. Much like the NFL does it, it's a way to help promote a little more parity by truly toughening up schedules on the better teams. The biggest potential downside is ending up with a division that just isn't good. However, since half the teams in each conference make the playoffs, there really shouldn't be any excuses from a team finishing 6th. Even with a division heavy schedule, if you can't finish in the top half of the conference, (in my opinion) there's no real excuse. If everyone could please vote on which option they prefer, it would be greatly appreciated. Since this isn't a rule change, we'll just go with simple majority here.

This isn't time sensitive, but I do like to have the schedule put together around mid-September at the latest

With Memphis abstaining, 10 votes is enough for this to pass.
