Welcome.... to the NBA Finals.
How They Got Here
Brooklyn is the #1 seed in the East, finishing the regular season 14-2. They defeated the 5th seed Washington Wizards in round 1, 7-2, then held onto defeat the #3 seed, Tampa Bay, 5-4 in the Eastern Conference Finals. They are making their 6th Finals appearance, and their first since winning the title in 2019.
Golden St. is the #5 seed in the West. They finished third in the Pacific at 9-7, and they snuck into the playoffs despite losing their season finale. After beating the Sonics in the play-in round, they upset the top-seeded Portland Trailblazers in the first round, 5-4. They then easily dispatched #2 Utah in the Western Conference Finals, 8-1. They are making their 2nd Finals appearance in the last 3 years, and they have now won six consecutive playoff match-ups.
